Workforce and Training
There are thousands of aviation related employees and a strong manufacturing workforce available to the North Texas Regional Airport. The easy access via Hwy US 75 and the soon to be connected Hwy 289 provide access to one of the fastest and largest suburban labor pools in the nation. The surrounding areas of Sherman, Denison and Pottsboro also provide a strong manufacturing workforce. Additionally, the North Texas region is recognized as one of the largest clusters of aviation business in the nation.
Aviation Related Training
The North Texas area has the capacity to support educational needs for a skilled workforce. Grayson County College Center for Workplace Learning provides continuing education for area employers. See Award
The Center for Workplace Learning Training and Conference Center on the Grayson County College campus was made possible through the innovative, non-profit partnership of the Denison Development Alliance, the Sherman Economic Development Corporation, Workforce Solutions Texoma, and Grayson County College.
A testament to the proactive business environment in Grayson County, the state-of-the-art facility was constructed for the central purpose of developing regional workforce skills with local access to world-class training. Most courses are customized for specific industry application and utilize a blended delivery to optimize the corporate learning investment.
